Primary School Orientation Program |
A good pre-school life is important for adaptation and success in the primary school period. Our main objective for the preparation studies for the primary school in 6 years old group is to develop and quicken the cognitive, social-emotional and language development as well as fine motor skills of our children. After the change that was done in the Curriculum of Ministry of Education and the transition to hand-writing, induction method was started to be used instead of deduction method. At Ekin, we conduct educational activities integrated with primary school so that our children can make a fine transition to primary school. We have many exercises to teach our kids how to sit properly in a desk, how to reduce the pressure on the paper, holding the pencil correctly and the ability to draw lines properly (including wrist exercises, finger exercises, hand exercises in the sand pool, the directions letters are written, lines in the air, imaginary lines and educational games).
At our hand-crafting and visual art courses, we have many practices for how to hold and use a scissors, tearing and sticking, painting, shaping and folding. Within the scope of our project studies, hand and coordination skills are reinforced with 2 and 3 dimensional activities.
Also, reading and writing exercises are not just activities that are conducted in desks. The studies are applied in all activities. Within the extent of studies for preparation to reading and writing; native tongue activities such as completing sentences, providing a picture and creating a tale, telling tongue twisters and riddles are practiced a lot that complements the induction method during the study of Visual Perception, Rhythm, Listening, Sense Training, Breathing practice, Pencil Control study, Book studies, sound studies and reading-writing studies.
Within the scope of these studies; students study books with pictured tales, and introduce the book they study to their friends. Also, during the determined days of the week, fun reading activities are conducted in the library.

Reading-Writing Preparation Studies |
These are all the studies made under native tongue education. They are conducted after lunch. During the 15 minutes of silence time, they study their books with pictured tales. And then they present the book they studied to their friends, and they listen to the tales read by their teacher. Also, during the determined days of the week, fun reading activities are conducted in the library. These activities play an important role in preparing for reading and writing.
The studies for preparing to write are exercises to develop smaller muscle so that children can hold their pencils correctly, arranging beads on a rope, sand pool studies, aligning notes, and drawing lines in correct direction in preparation for the hand-writing.
